Pick a card!

We received hundreds of submissions for our most recent short story anthology, MAJOR ARCANA. The theme of the anthology was 'inspired by one or more tarot cards from the Major Arcana'.

Choosing stories for an anthology is not easy. The trick is to find stories that form a cohesive point of view - rather tricky when you're looking through works by different authors writing on a vague brief like ours!

Nevertheless, y'all delivered. And how.

So let's cut the bullshit and get to the juice! Here is the full list of chosen stories for MAJOR ARCANA. We're so happy to welcome back four* existing Mirari authors, and initiate four more into our ranks. These stories are haunting, moving, creepy, funny, inspiring and good old-entertaining. From shapeshifters to vampires, primordial forces to fables, séances to a local complex poltergeist, we know you're going to love these eight bangers.

Here's the full list in alphabetical order:

  • Andrea le Riche: XIII: Death

  • Brett Rex Bruton: Fur, Feathers, and Flies

  • Gary Hartley: Site-specific work

  • Luke Wildman: Seanna O'Gab and Brer Rabbit

  • Nerine Dorman: Daughter of Sunset, Daughter of Dawn

  • Peter-Adrian Altini: Dogwoman

  • Rhett Sinnema: Damned

  • Sitara Hooseria: The Ocean of Milk

MAJOR ARCANA will be published by Mirari Press in October 2026. Keep an eye on this space for cover reveals, launch dates, and interviews with the authors.
