Mirari started with a simple question: why does a country this good at telling stories publish so little speculative fiction?
Nobody had a good answer. So we built the house we wanted to see.
We take the manuscripts the big houses call too risky. Fantasy, science fiction, horror, anthologies, magical realism, alternate history. Queer stories, dark stories, hopeful stories – books that offer a new perspective on what makes writing South African.
Three imprints, one appetite.
Mirari Press: Genre fiction, done properly. Epic fantasy, science fiction, the occasional thing we can't classify (and don't want to).
Mirari Revel: Queer short fiction, ebook-only. Fast, sharp, unapologetic.
AIUR: Non-fiction for a planet in trouble. Climate, ecology, earth-philosophy. Books about the future we're actually going to get, and how to live in it well.

Nearly twenty years inside South African publishing, including senior roles at some of its largest houses. Left the boardroom to build a press that publishes what those houses wouldn't. Writes epic fantasy. Reads everything.
Editor: Mirari Revel
Tiaan Booyens
Writer, editor, journalist, former bookseller. Knows what readers actually pick up, and why. Runs Revel with a taste for the literary and the speculative, and no patience for the safe.
