Marius du Plessis

Marius du Plessis is a writer, editor, and publisher based in Cape Town. He is at work on Khala, an epic fantasy and the opening book of the Tassariad trilogy, which is appearing with Mirari Press in 2027.

Alongside his own fiction, Marius is the founder and publisher of Mirari Press, an independent house devoted to speculative fiction and queer storytelling, with a particular commitment to African writers working in genre. He writes ARS ARCANUM, a twice-monthly notebook on craft, practice, and publishing, and his short fiction and essays appear in anthologies including UTOPIA/HAVOC.

When he isn't writing or publishing, he keeps a steady Zen practice — a discipline that turns out to have a good deal in common with finishing a novel.
